Further to Papantoniou Supermarkets’ collaboration with EUREKA, on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 a cheque for €1,000 was presented to PASYKAF representative Ms Anna Constantinou as a gesture of solidarity to the Association and its work for prevention, support, care, relief and encouragement of patients.
This offer resulted from the collaboration of Papantoniou Supermarkets with EUREKA in October 2020. During that period, in an activity that targeted consumers, €0.20 was donated to PASYKAF for every EUREKA Massalias or EUREKA Active Care that was sold, in support of its work.
Papantoniou Supermarkets remain faithful to their commitment to honesty, putting people first and having a strong sense of social responsibility and solidarity to Cypriot society. In this context, they actively support the community and, through their activities and partnerships, seek to educate, raise awareness and motivate the public, aiming to create a better life for all. Over the past few years, they have implemented a series of meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility programmes so as to effectively support socially sensitive groups and cultural and environmental associations.
For the past 33 years, the Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (PASYKAF) has provided cancer patients and their families, island-wide, with free palliative care and medical monitoring at home and 24/7 palliative, supportive care in Nicosia and Limassol. At the same time, the Association offers specialised services that include physical therapy, prevention and treatment of lymphoedema, psychosocial support at an individual and group level, bereavement support, patient communication and activity programmes, patient transfer from all districts to the Oncology Centres in Nicosia and Limassol, and post-treatment support at the specialised Afetiria centre, as well as a smoking cessation programme.
Presentation of the amount to PASYKAF by Papantoniou Supermarkets and EUREKA is simply a gesture of support for the Association’s important work. The public’s support in this effort was significant and the great things we as a society can achieve if we support each other.
